The Sydney-based research group, a collaboration
between DSTC and several faculties at the University of Technology
Sydney, is currently working with the Job Futures network to gain a
better understanding of issues surrounding organisational knowledge
sharing and knowledge creation.
By conducting research within
the real world environment of Job Futures, the KITE team gains
practical insight into ICT and organisational issues which are
fundamental to achieving the project’s research objectives. After
conducting a workshop at the Job Futures national conference ‘Smart
Technology and Staff Work Practice is Successful Organisations’ in
November 2004, the team are carrying out field studies across Job
Futures sites in Sydney focussed on understanding issues surrounding
the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships.
For Job Futures, one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit
employment services group, the benefits of involvement with the KITE
team include recommendations for tools and work practices to improve
teamwork, communication, and non-hierarchical networking across its
network.
